📜 Call for Submissions – Mythology Anthology 📜
Do you have a fresh take on an old tale? We’re looking for bold, imaginative retellings of mythology from around the world. Give us your twist on the stories we think we know—whether that’s a change in perspective, a new cultural setting, or a complete reimagining.
What We’re Looking For:
- Stories between 2,500 – 8,000 words
- Unique perspectives on classic myths (think: Hercules’ trials from Hera’s POV, the Hydra telling its own story, Medusa reclaiming her voice, or Thor seen through the eyes of the giants)
- Any mythology—Greek, Norse, Egyptian, Celtic, Indigenous, African, Asian, and beyond
- All genres welcome: fantasy, sci-fi, historical, horror, romance—just keep the myth at the heart of the tale
Deadline: March 30, 2026
Payment: $25 USD per accepted story

Call for Submissions – Charity Anthology for Immigration Rights
Outsider Publishing is seeking submissions for our upcoming charity anthology benefiting immigration rights. All profits will be donated to organizations supporting immigrants and refugees in the United States.
We are looking for powerful, moving, and inspiring stories that:
- Highlight the vital contributions immigrants make to America.
- Share the journeys of those forced from their homelands who find peace, safety, and hope in the U.S.
- Explore the resilience, courage, and dreams of individuals building a new life.
We welcome:
- Short stories
- Personal essays & memoirs
- Poetry
Submission Guidelines:
- Word count: Up to 5,000 words (shorter works welcome)
- All genres considered (literary, contemporary, historical, speculative, etc.) as long as they fit the theme
- Must be original, unpublished work
- Multiple submissions allowed
Compensation:
This is a charity project — contributors will receive one digital copy of the anthology and full contributor credit.

The 80s: Totally Radical Tales

Dust off your mixtapes, rewind the VHS, and step back into a decade of neon lights, late nights, and unforgettable times.
We’re seeking original short stories inspired by the 1980s—not just the aesthetic, but the feeling. The shows, the cartoons, the television after midnight. Summer nights that felt endless. The fear, the freedom, the joy, the growing up before the internet.
THE THEME
Stories should base themselves on 80’s nostalgia, including (but not limited to):
- Childhood and coming-of-age in the 80’s
- Friendship, first love, and heartbreak
- Small-town mysteries and urban legends
- Horror, suspense, and the uncanny
- Queer stories and found family
- Music, movies, arcades, malls, sleepovers, and late-night TV
All genres are welcome—horror, literary, speculative, romance, dark fiction, and everything in between—as long as the 80’s influence is central. (please no erotica)
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
- Word Count: 2,000–6,000 words
- Format: Standard manuscript format (DOC or DOCX preferred)
- Original, unpublished work only (please reach out for other work it will be on a case by case)
- Multiple submissions allowed (please submit separately)

Cook in the Book is a unique anthology that blends storytelling and cooking. We’re seeking fictional stories where the recipe is part of the narrative itself. The food should matter.

- Short stories where a recipe is woven into the story
- The recipe must appear naturally within the narrative
- Characters cooking
- Instructions revealed through action or memory
- Ingredients tied to emotion, tradition, or plot

- Food can be comforting, chaotic, magical, or meaningful

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking dark holiday stories that embrace chaos, horror, and the unsettling side of Christmas. This includes (but is not limited to):

- Psychological horror
- Dark fantasy

- Splatterpunk

- Grim or twisted holiday tales
