It’s been a long time since I sat down and blog what was going on in my life. For the most part, I have been focusing on writing and publishing tips. But this year has been a roller coaster of work and personal growth. Which has been an amazing roller coaster.
Work-
So, we will start here. I started a full-time job Dec of 2025. Which has been great for my mental health, and I love the job that I have. I mean, I would love for my writing to be my full time writing but I feel one day soon that will be the case. The reason I am talking about this full-time job is because I have been putting a lot of hours into it. And it is not one that I can really do a lot of writing while doing it.
Now, the working part of writing. This year, I struggled to get some writing done; however, it is also set to be the most that I have published in one year. In June I had Help Me Help You book one that came out. This is a stand-alone, interconnected series. Fall for Someone Else which was released, was my first romance. Just today I had my first poetry collection called Love Letters to Death. This collection is so raw that I cry every time I read it. There is not a lot that I can say I am proud of, but this is one of those moments that I can say it surprised me how I was able to get my grief on paper.
What else do I have left to do this year? Well, I am working on re-releasing Jord’s Curse to a spicier romance. And the 2nd books is done as well, so the goal is to do a rapid release for the first two, and hopefully the 3rdwill not be far behind. I am also working on book two of the Help Me Help You series and book two of the Elements series. Now, this is everything that I am working on for my writing. Oh, and I launched my first audiobook for From the window which is my very first book I ever published. Now we will get into the fun stuff for Outsider Publishing.
For those who don’t know, we started a publishing company just about two years ago. It will be two years in November. Just right before we lost our grandma, which kind of put a damper on trying to run a company. I have to say, that this year has been a lot better for us. We have released our Summer Camp Anthology, a charity collection Called Power and Pride: The Queer Resistance Anthology, which I edited myself, which is a huge step for me. Now, am I a professional editor? Not by any means am I anywhere close, but we have such talented writers it didn’t need to much. But what is most exciting is all that we have coming up for Outsider Publishing.
Now for the funniest part of this! WE SIGNED OUR FIRST AUTHOR!!! Harmony Greene signed with us, and I can’t wait to get her book out to you guys.
Oh, and I will be officially joining the Go Indie family hosting my own show for the channel. I am so thank to Joe Campton for giving me the opportunity to do this. If you don’t know what Go Indie Now is, it is a channel that promotes indie author and artist. Whether you are an author, artist, musician, or even wrestler, there is a spot on the channel that might fit for you. I won’t go into detail about what the story is about we still need to work out all the details, but I will be joining them this fall.
Now I am so excited because we have some incredible writers that is working on some of our anthologies. I am not giving it away; you will have to follow along and see who they are. But I will have to say that right now we are working on a myth-retelling anthology that will be out in August. An 80s anthology that will be out in September. A fun circus collection is coming out in October, and we will have a part two to our Christmas Chaos.
Now I never knew that there was so much work that went into a publishing company. I think I spend more time answering emails and slush reading than I do anything else at this point. It is a good problem to have because it means that we are getting people that are interested in working with us.
The next thing is events, this year will have more events than ever, and I am hoping next year we will have twice as much. The goal is to do at least 2 in town events and 1 out of town event a month. So far we just implemented this rule, and this is the first month that we have two events on or calendar. But next month I think that we are full and until the end of the month. I have updated our Where to Find Us tab through the end of August but plan on doing the rest of the year soon. (haha I say that, but will it really get done?)
I think I covered everything new for the work part of my life, let move on to the personal-which will be short and sweet.
I finally got insurance and went to the doctor. Some good news is that I got my meds to help with my anxiety and depression. But while I was there I was also diagnosed with having some liver issues. Which meant that I had to change the way that I ate. Which sucks because I can’t have any process food. Which means I can’t have salami and that is the one thing that I can’t live without but guess who is still living-hmm me lol.
On top of that I have lost a little bit of weight, which I want to continue to do so. I really want to get into doing more running. Okay, let’s get real: more walking. I think I might join a gym and try to go at least twice a week. I really want to say that I would do it more, but I work and run a business and try to write I don’t know if I have that much time (no its not excuse it is just reality in where I am in life at the moment)
I started therapy and I think everyone should be in it. It has really help me set boundaries that I never could. I cut people out of my life that was causing me pain, and I have really been able to talk about the things that have been weighing me down. It also help me finish my newest release and let me channel everything I was feeling into that book and left it on the paper. It been a good healing experience.
But I think that cover the person stuff, haven’t really done anything really. So, until next time stay golden, or something profound.
